Super Bikes to Tasmaniac

In a complete switch from the quiet of the Snowy River, I headed to Philip Island for the World Super Bike race weekend.

Two days of cloudy practice

Beautiful Sunday for racing

Next stop, 11hrs across the Bass Straight to Tasmania

Hey look! Its a Land Rover, but smaller!

Engine and interior correct in miniture

Up to Bay of Fires in the NE

Roughing it on the beach

Working down the East coast

Spinning bridge on the way out to Port Arthur

Hand cut stones by prisoners

Well worn sand stone

Original Cathedral

Further down the coast, in Richmond, is the oldest bridge still in active use, finished in 1825

Waiting for the ferry to Bruny Island with an island local

Looking down from the lighthouse

Searching for surf

Very cool Land Cruiser fire engine

On the way back to Tasmania mainland, disaster struck.  Head gasket failed.
Easy fix, but had to wait three days before being able to order a new one

On the road again, and another destination crossed off

The most southern road in Australia.  Only North and West from here

A rather wet and stormy camp

Cradle Mountain, strangely familiar looking weather

The famous boat house at Cradle Mountain

This brings an end to the Tasmania part of my adventure,
another 11 hours, and back to the mainland
