Canberra, and Rainy Mountains

Saying goodbye to the coast for a while, I headed inland to explore Canberra and the Snowy Mountains region.
Last shot of the ocean for a while

Wombat zone

Kangaroo Valley Bridge

Soggy Roos, in a soggy Kangaroo Valley

While sleeping this night, I was woken by a Wombat scratching it's butt on the 107, sorry I couldn't get the camera out in time to catch the creature

Land of museums and politics

Shady Capital roos

For some strange reason, my camera would only take photos of Land Rovers

And baby Rovers

Canberra, being a planned City, is organized rather well.
Looking from the War memorial toward Parliament house. (Old and New)

From New Parliament house back to the War Memorial

107 marking it's spot at Old Parliament house

Too many guards with guns to be able to drive up the steps here, but I did get to see Question Time.  Adults verbally abusing each other for a couple hours, great fun to watch

This place has to be awesome, and it was!

Behind the clouds, is Mt Kosciuszko.  The tallest spot in Australia, 2,228 meters

Nasty, rainy, windy day on top with no view

Bush buggy

Agreed

Snowy River Valley

Downstream, and further South

Up and out of the Snowy River Valley, heading to the coast

Wilson's Promontory, a good place to stay for a while.
